UVIRESO SPACE Joins Space Cluster Lithuania, Bringing Electric Propulsion Expertise to the Network

Space Cluster Lithuania welcomes UVIRESO SPACE as its newest member. A Lithuanian deep-tech company developing electric propulsion systems for small satellites, UVIRESO SPACE joins a growing network of businesses and research organizations advancing Lithuania’s space industry and strengthening its international connections.

Advancing propulsion for small satellite missions

UVIRESO SPACE  develops Hall-effect thrusters that use bismuth, a metallic propellant. This approach opens new possibilities for propellant storage and system design, aiming to make electric propulsion more practical and accessible for small satellites. Such systems can support essential orbital manoeuvres, including station-keeping and collision avoidance with zero space debris.

Combining engineering development with scientific research, the company has established its own vacuum testing infrastructure to support propulsion research and experiments under controlled conditions. Its activities also include participation in the European Space Agency’s (ESA) programme and research collaboration with VILNIUS TECH, connecting academic expertise with practical space engineering challenges.

Strengthening Lithuania’s space community

As Lithuania’s space sector develops, cooperation between companies with different technological specialisations creates opportunities to combine expertise and develop new solutions. For UVIRESO SPACE, joining Space Cluster Lithuania offers a way to become more involved in the local space community and explore potential projects with other members.

“We are pleased to join Space Cluster Lithuania and become part of a network that brings together expertise from different areas of space technology,” said Dr. Jonas Klimantas, CEO of UVIRESO. “We look forward to exchanging ideas and exploring new opportunities for cooperation.”

“UVIRESO is an example of engineering creativity coming to the market. We are glad that the company adds to the portfolio of space tech solutions of Lithuanian origin and contributes to the growth of the space community in our country” said Saulius Arelis, Coordinator of Space Cluster Lithuani.
